I am thankful for the same things as most everyone else, family friends, etc.
This morning I logged on to the computer to check e-mail and found something new to be thankful for. Instead of the usual 100-200 spam messages in the In-Box and junk-folder there were less than 12. Even the spammers take the holiday off. Instead of wasting 15 minutes checking my junk folder for an accidental good messages and my In-Box for spams; it took less than 30 seconds.
So they left me with more time for my family and the football games. For that I am truly thankful. If I had one wish, that would be for the spammers to take a 4 day weekend like the rest of the world.
PS. About 40 of those daily spams are agents sending me their listings. Most of them outside the areas I service.

That's funny....I think you had enough of emails the last day or two :)
Have a good Thanksgiving Day Randy!
Randy, I love that. The spammers take the day off. Everyone needs to rest I guess. Happy Thanksgiving my friend.
Yup...I get a lot also, although not the amount you get, but i do recieve enough!
I know how you feel . It is a daily job sorting through the spam!
Happy Thanksgiving Randy. I hope you had a great day!
Randy a spammer holiday, great idea. Hope you and your family had a Happy Thanksgiving.
That was a gift we had as well -- less spam -- perhaps the spammers were off eating spam . All the best.
Randy, it's amazing how much spam I get from other agents. Even when it's in my market area it's annoying!
Hope you and your family are having a great Thanksgiving!
Sally - I am sure the messages you are talking about will start up again tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving.
Gary W. - Even the spammers get a day off. LOL Happy Thanksgiving
William F. - I have multiple websites and e-mail addresses, so I am prime for the picking.
Trey - I would love to be able to get even with them somehow.
Monika - Happy Thanksgiving
George - We need more of them.
Bob and Carolin - I am just glad they gave me a rest. I also notice that Sundays the number of spams go way down.
Patricia - I am getting bombed by one of the local companies even after hitting the unsubscribe button several times.
Randy- Happy Thanksgiving and I am late in telling you how fun it was to meet you in Orlando at the AR Party and all that we talked about. I like getting all those out of my area listings emailed to me. Because of our location, a lot of times we will know an agent who might be looking for a property in an area not in our market, plus, I like learning what is up for sale in different markets.
Nester & Katrina - It was great to final meet you in person. I really look forward to these Active Rain gatherings.
In my case I am so bombed by these messages that they hit the spam filter and I do not even look at them.
Randy... how funny... thanks for the laugh.. I found my spam numbers to be down a little.... I guess my system picks up the spammers a little more... but hey, what do I know.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.....
Jeff, have you ever noticed that the agents sending you listings and garbage two or three times a day are the very same agents who do not reply to your emails in a timely manner? If they really wanted to sell it, they'd return the email or call. If they can't do that, my buyers just move on to the next house.
Randy, It sounds like you deserve a holiday from spam. I hope your luck continues...
Randy,
Even the spammers like a day off when they can just sit around and eat and watch football.:)
Jeff - I had a few this morning, but still way down in volume. I guess they are taking the long weekend.
Maria - I have to say there is one in particular that falls in your category. I reported her to her broker after I gave up trying to show one of her listings.
Paul - I would love a permanent holiday from spam. 90% of the potential viruses seem to come in on the spams also.
Neal - Is it bad to wish them a case of food poisoning?
Hi, Randy!
Glad you got to enjoy the game! I too have wondered why agents spam me with their listing and open-house announcements, from other states, too. If I had a buyer for their listing, I would be spamming them instead!
Aloha,
Robin
Robin - Even the ones in my market are getting ridiculous.
One day last week I had about 50MB of attachments sent to my box by agents sending me their flyers. Are they nuts? At least send a link if you insist on spamming. Also clean your computer. I have had several agents send me e-mails with viruses attached to them.
Randy- Cute....I hadn't thought of this, but for those of us that use the computer a lot this is indeed something to be thankful for. Have a great Holiday Week-end....
Kathy - Have a great weekend.
I use outlook and I was inundated with spam nonstop. I found Spamfighter and it is terrific. Check it out.
Sean
Sean - I will have to check it out. Thank you!
Yep....spam clutters my inbox but I've been slowly getting rid of it...spamfighter sounds like a great tool.
Sonja - It is a daily war for me. I get the same messages sent to each of my e-mail addresses at times multiplying the spams.
Randy,
I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving and that the spammer's stay away.
Dan - They seem to have kept it to a minimum all weekend. Enjoy what is left of the weekend.
Well I see you had a good thanksgiving. I've had to forward my email address to gmail just to be able to turn on spam monitoring.
Greg - It is getting to be a real pain that we have to take evasive actions.
I used to get about 200 emails a day from spammers. However, since I created my own site (russel-ray.com) and use an email address going through my site (russel@russel-ray.com), I get fewer than 10 spam emails a day. I suspect it has something to do with the spam filters of my web site host.
Russel - I am also finding I get a lot less through my domain e-mail address. I have three Roadrunner accounts that I use for different activities and they are getting bombed.
