Last Friday's game was the most important and possibly the most exciting game in the University's history. Boise State has won the WAC conference for the last 5 years. University of Hawaii was undefeated and trying for their first outright WAC conference Championship. They were co-winners in the past.
Their victory over Boise State made the University of Hawaii the WAC Champions!
This is the best season in the history of the school. Until that game we were not getting a lot of respect on a national basis. Things have changed.
Our quarterback Colt Brennan, who was barely mentioned as a Heisman hopeful in the past has now been elevated to on one of the possible favorites by the sports announcers. Colt was hurt and missed most of three games, yet is still breaking NCAA records left and right.
The final game of the season will be against the University of Washington Huskies. If Hawaii can win that game in a strong showing they should be heading to one of the five BCS bowl games. They need to be in the top 12 on the BCS standings and after the Boise State game they moved up the 12th ranked team on the BCS standings, higher on the other polls.
Here are the coach's comments about the upcoming game:

Randy,
I've been keeping an eye on University of Hawaii all season. Amazing. CONGRATULATIONS to the Hawaii team.
Huskies are tough on any given Saturday. Go Hawaii.
Cheers, Mr. C. KIM McGuire. N. Padre Island, TX. Go Ohio State Buckeyes! National Championship is a good possibility still! Otherwise off to the "Grand Daddy of All BOWLS" - The ROSE BOWL!
C. Kim - I expect Washington to be tough, especially since we are nationally ranked and they have nothing to lose. They are better than their record.
Carol - Thank you, The people of Hawaii are really excited about this season.
Sally - How can you not love football with the Warriors being so exciting this year?
Randy... Congrats on Hawaii.... But I will agree with some of the media and say that they haven't played as many to get a better ranking. And Cole has been hurt here and there, hence why he hasn't been mentioned much. Personally..... I think he has a good arm, but he seems to be a little fragile in size. In the NFL, some big hits could put him out.
On the other hand, I will be cheering for my Mountaineers. They win Saturday and they are in the National Championship game... either against Missouri or Ohio State.
In any case.... it is a good feeling when a home team gets recognized.... so Congrats again.
Sally - I will check it out.
Jeff - Their biggest challenge was many of the big name teams are ducking them. Our news media was reporting how much trouble our Athletic Director was having scheduling games. On ESPN over the weekend they brought that up. One of the sportscasters was also picking Colt as the best candidate for Heisman.
His injury was because of a blatant helmet hit in a previous game.
Randy,
Is this the school you want your son who plays to go to?
Jordan - I wish I was going to the game. We will be having a big football party instead. I stopped taking my car to the games when we go. I take park my car and take the shuttle bus, it is stress free.
Neal - That would be the dream of a lifetime for him. Not much chance, you would have to be an exceptionally gifted athlete to even have a chance.
Lysa - Things have changed for the better. The stadium got also a face lift including new field turf a couple of years ago, because of the Pro Bowl requirements.
Gary - Look out the Warriors are on a roll.
Krista - Thank you
