After several delays I am finally getting my cards out today. As in the years past I am sending Christmas Cards, not Holiday Cards.
I have actually been counseled in the past that I may offend some and should not mail Christmas Cards. When I worked for a large corporation years ago it was company policy not to call them Christmas Cards.
Here is my response. LIGHTEN UP!
- Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas.
- Mele Kalikimaka, Mele Kalikimaka, Mele Kalikimaka, Mele Kalikimaka, (Mele Kalikimaka is Merry Christmas in Hawaiian).
If someone celebrates another holiday from another religion and sent me a card, I would not be bothered or insulted. If someone were to say a pray for some other religion I would be courteous and respect them by being quiet. If someone placed a religious display for their Holiday it would not bother me in the slightest. Why would a rational person be insulted by Merry Christmas?
After almost 2 seconds of thought I made a business decision that every year I will send Christmas Cards. If that costs me a piece of business it will be offset by any it may bring me.
So please go out and enjoy the Christmas Holidays with you family and have a safe and prosperous 2007.

Randy and everyone else: I agree 100%!!! I can't believe all this political correctness BS. MERRY CHRISTMAS!! MELE KELIKIMAKA!!
Eddy - I think so. Most are really not sincere; they just like to make issues out of everything.
Gina - I don't think normal people would ever be offended.
David - Merry Christmas! Oh the Rabbi was in the news. He did not intend for what happended. he withdrew his complaint and the trees are back up. I hope they put up a Jewish display. That would be the cool thing to do. After all Jesus was Jewish.
Michael - One of the beauties of working for yourself as we do is that we won't have to bow to that stuff like corporate America does.
Merry Christmas!
I send out Hand Made Christmas Cards that I personally write,
"Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season from my family to yours"
I'm sending the card as a greeting, if someone chooses not to accept it that way, so be it.
Randy, first of all you have a beautiful family. Second Merry Christmas to you and your family. And finally third, isn't it amazing how the people that preach tolerance are the most intolerant. I guess to them tolerance means agree with them and if you don't then you are the one that is intolerant.
We don't know that December 25th was the day that Christ was born, but we do know that he was born, and we need to celebrate it. The US was built on freedom of religion, it is too bad that there are still some that try to restrict that freedom by trying to stop us from exercising that freedom. I am glad to see that you are not letting them do that to you.
David - It was a joke. He was Jewish though. My point it would not bother me if they put up religious displays for other groups, anymore than it bothers me that they call them French fries. Wait backup that does bother me. I prefer American Fries.
Peter - There is always one nut out there. I just remove them from list if they surface. I prefer not to have touchy super sensitive clients anyway.
George - I think you said it the best. Tolerance to some means you agree with them. Mahalo, Aloha.
